Manchester United to pay Gareth Bale’s £480,000-a-week contract to secure loan deal with Real Madrid
Man U are willing to pay Gareth Bale’s £480,000-a-week contract as they aim to sign him on loan from Real Madrid, according to reports. Zinedine Zidane wants Bale to leave Madrid this summer as he is looking to overhaul his squad and the 29-year-old is not part of his plans for next season.
But offloading the Wales international is proving to be difficult. Reports last month claimed that Madrid had not received any offers for Bale as they demanded a £75 million transfer fee. Bale, meanwhile, has reportedly instructed his agent to tell Madrid’s hierarchy that he wants to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu.
United are planning a loan move for Bale and are ready to pay a loan fee to Madrid. United initially want to sign Bale on a season-long loan but also have the option to extend it for a further year.

United are happy to pay Bale’s £480,000-a-week contract, which is a stumbling block for many clubs who would be interested in a deal. United, meanwhile, have already agreed an £18m deal with Swansea City to sign Daniel James. The 21-year-old Wales international completed his medical at United’s training ground on Thursday.
