Though Saweetie does not contribute to the song, she plays an important role in the video, as the niece of Quavo’s business partner who is “off limits.” As you might expect, Quavo ends up betraying the mob boss-like figure as he and the character played by Saweetie carry out a love affair. When their relationship is discovered, they are tied up and threatened with torture. The clip is directed by Quavo, who clearly has a cinematic interest we weren’t previously aware of.
“Workin’ Me” is one of three solo tracks released by the Migos rapper earlier this month. It’s produced by Murda Beatz.
